It's that time of year again!

Tulip time.

The Rothko-esque fields of color,
the endless variety,
the subtlety of shape and shade:
every year they blow me away.

These photos
are the first digital shots
that I have posted here
in quite a while.

I recently purchased a new digital camera,
and look forward to posting more photos taken with it
as I learn and experiment.

I will always love and shoot film,
but it is exciting to have a new medium to play with!

Another Springtime wreath--
I can't stop painting the fleurs of this season!

It seems like a new kind of flower
is bursting forth
every single day.
Hellebores led the way,
then daffodils brought their bright glory,
and now tulips and irises are raising their heads!

I so enjoyed painting
the unabashedly pretty blooms
in this blossoming April wreath.

Available in my shop here.

I've been enjoying
lots of good music lately.
All of it sounds fresh,
and light,
and perfect for Springtime.

These two have been on
near-constant repeat.

Elephant Revival | These Changing Skies
Kathryn Claire | Shimmering Blue

And of course,
it's time for me
to pull this playlist
out again.
I must admit:
it has a special place
in my heart.

I cannot believe
it's almost been a year
since our wedding...

Hellebores!

I feel like I am seeing these varied beauties
all over town this Spring,
which brings such a smile to my face
since they are one of my favorite flowers.

My mother planted
a Pink Frost
& I gifted her
a Spring Promise
for her garden,
and both are stunning.

I love how their blooms
seem delicate and gentle
even though I know
they must be hardy warriors,
strong and true,
in order to emerge as one of the first flowers
of Spring's earliest and chilliest beginning.
