What have you been reading lately?
I recently finished and loved The Remains of the Day.
Right now I'm in the middle of A Novel Bookstore,
and I'm liking it very much.
I need some new recommendations for Autumn,
the season of colorful leaves
& cozy hours spent drinking tea and reading.
The Remains of the Day is very good, indeed! I was thinking about going through John Irving's books again, for some reason I had forgotten how much I enjoyed his books; especially A Prayer for Owen Meany.

ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading three very boring nonfiction books. Two are so boring that I won't even bother to list them. The other: The Omnivore's Dilemma. I can only read bits of it at a time.

ReplyDeleteI just finished Elizabeth Gilbert's "Stern Men", because I've been loving her non-fiction so much I wanted to see what her fiction was like. It was extremely enjoyable, quirky and spontaneous and really fun to get into. You have a lovely blog, by the way. :)

ReplyDeleteThere are two Paul Auster books on my night table for evenings and "Freedom from The Known" by Krishnamurti next to my heart all the times.

i was just recently talking about how one of my favorite things about autumn and winter is the time devoted to eagerly devouring books coupled with tea without the guilt thinking you should be playing outside. i know that i am looking forward to reading some joan didion, david grossman and whatever else i happen to discover at the used bookstore down the street. i am loving your blog, by the way. great pictures!!
ReplyDeleteLate Wife by Claudia Emerson is a beautiful book of poetry I've read recently. Also, I'm in the midst of The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham and am finding it quite interesting. One more...After Leaving Mr. Mackenzie by Jean Rhys is an old favorite of mine. Happy reading and tea drinking.
