i'm not sure if i'd call it good luck, as they seem so plentiful in the woods here in spring. nonetheless, they are very special flowers. here in BC it is illegal to pick them, along with the pacific dogwood.
Yes, it is illegal to pick them in Washington State as well--you can find them on many of the trails through the woods on the Olympic Peninsula, but not much in the Seattle area. I was so surprised to see them growing near my neighborhood.
Lovely photo. I found trilliums here too! They're Ontario's flower. Did you know if you pick them, they can take up to 7 years to grow back?
