Alexis Anne
I find Alexis Anne Mackenzie's collaged-paper pieces to be incredibly beautiful and incredibly sad at the same time. They look delicate and fragile, composed of bits of flora and fauna that are cut from books she's collected for years. There is such a sense of age and remembrance about these works that their overall effect for me is one of bittersweet nostalgia.
