So I got Runnin' Down a Dream: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and oh my my, oh hell yes. Spending a few gloriously uninterrupted hours reading the amazing interview inside it was fantastic. I grew up listening to his music with my parents (his was the first "real" concert I ever went to--my parents took my brother and I to see him at the Tacoma Dome when we were in junior high!) so I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Heartbreakers, but after reading this interview I am more impressed than ever with the man. Even though I have heard Tom Petty described as "the ugliest man in rock and roll" (thanks, boyfriend) to me he is just straight-up cool. Highly recommended.
